Here’s one (attached)of many online circuits for a point triggered gate MOSFET ignition.

That shows the symbol for a bipolar transistor, not a mosfet.

Good catch. Mislabeled indeed.

Here's mine. The Velleman K2543 kit is well known in Europe. Many owners of vintage cars and bikes have them. After a set crossed the Sahara desert on my Peugeot 504 GL with no problem, I decided to make a copycat that has worked flawlesly for the past 25 years. You need two ofcourse. I've not mounted the overdone cooling fins, but used the alu box and lid instead for 'cooling' the power transistors. Do a search on 'deltarider' and 'homebuilt' or 'transistor' and you'll find all the info to make your own. With it my OEM breakerpoints have now served some 60.000 kms and hardly need attention.
A longer dwell is not needed at all. Honda and TEC have dimensioned the coils thus that they work fine all the way up to 10.000 rpm. If you want to learn more, go here: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,188940.msg2195751.html#msg2195751

Standard was a good aftermarket one that supplied some to an OEM manufacturer but I forget which one..

Most Automotive condenser/capacitors are usually somewhere between 0.22 - 0.30, but I’m sure a few will fall outside this range….I think Honda’s  are 0.22 also..

Blue Streak also supplied them to Ford in the 1960s-1980s. The ones in my old V-8 Fords were 0.024uF, and replacement Blue Streak parts were similar.
Honda's test qualifications are that they fall in to the 0.22 - 0.027uF range (some manuals showed 0.26uF high end).
When we raced the sole Suzuki Water Buffalo of our shop, circa 1973, Suzuki's California Parts Manager came to our shop and told us to test the condensors until we found 3 of them that tested as 0.024uF or higher for the bike. It smoothed out the spark at redline (7k RPM) speeds, and it idled better when coming off the track, hot. I found it ironic to be testing the Suzuki parts with the Honda tester(!).
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
