Any ideas on where to buy wire with the proper colouring, ie. green with red stripe.. to restore original wiring?

New wiring harness might be a better bet. Hard to rebuild an old harness. For example, where mine went up to the headlight it was very stiff and crispy.

Get a used/hacked wire harness and solder and heatshrink, as long as you are good with soldering.....
I've bought a couple of parts bikes that harnesses were compromised that were good for cutting and splicing, which I've done on a few harnesses.
On my K8 I used another harness from another K8 frame, both harnesses had problems at opposite ends, so I staggered cut the wires in the center after removing the tape covering.
If I get around to bringing those other bikes without a harness back to life I'll buy a replacement harness.

That was my first thought was that they have 22 gauge wire which I bet would be fine for that purpose. A quick google told me 150-200 mA is what the coil in a relay typically draws. A coil that ohms at 72 ohms would have that amperage draw.

18awg would be my recommendation to carry that current. 22awg I reserve for ground wires from momentary switches as an example. It might rate as suitable, but it’s so much smaller than stock it becomes a bit of a nuisance for integrating to the stock loom.

Indeed, and it is fairly popular to put loads such as headlights on a relay so that the switch has an easier job :-). Having the correct color of a smaller gauge wire just for activating the relay would be cool :-).
