You need to get one of those fancy power starters! (Watch this clip around the 3 minute mark):

Does your build sound as wicked as the 2RC143?  ;D

We probably will get one of those starters Dan, more money >:( >:( >:(

With regards to the sound, think twice as loud then double it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I havn't seen the video footage yet, but most videos dont sound half as good as the real thing.

Well, I've given up on the video editing for the moment, but the demand seems to be out there so here is a representative sample hosted on my new site:

www.nirvana-motorcycles.com/P2240001.MOV

While you are there, take a look around and let me know what you think.

Nice movie - love the sound of that bike - would be good to see it move as well  ;)

BTW The Nirvana site looks good - especially interested in the cut-away CB750 engine - the link for the story wasnt working when I tried it.

cheers

I know about the cutaway engine link - I haven't actually written it yet!  I suppose I should remove the link really.

When I have the story and some more pictures, I will post on here. Maybe even a movie as the thing is turned over by an electric motor. You can change gear and everything...

Sam-

You also need to get the white gloves and coveralls to complete the ensemble!  ;)

Nice one Danny, what a sweet sounding bike, revs a lot higher than the 836 but nowhere near as loud.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Will my white leathers and gloves do instead of coveralls ? :D :D :D :D :D

anyone else notice that the tach on that glorious bike on the honda dream commercial? starts at 5K and ends at 18 grand.  :o :o :o :o :o no wonder they got so many horses out of such a small engine...

It was the RC149 Paul, it was basically 2 and 1/2 RC116 50cc twins.

Now those things did rev, I don't think the old RC143 would rev much above 15000.

The RC162 was the next to last 250cc four before the six came out.

There is a clip with a few more revs (and some impressive smoke from the exhausts) but I think that Chris was just taking it real easy when these were shot.

That was caused by pressure build up in the cases, it's sorted now by putting 2 extra breathers off the cam box.

I havn't seen the footage Steve but, I belive the camera vibrated when Chris reved the motor. ;D ;D ;D

Can you get that bit on line Steve ?

The bikes first outing will be on the 8th Aprill at East Kirkby in south Lincolnshire.

The bit with the revs and smoke (for Mike)

I've also posted these to the "Movies" board, as that's what that was originally meant for.

So has the boyer been working good for you? I am interested in losing the mechanical advance. What coils you got going with the ign?
Where did you place the little black box?

The nearest will be York Mick but we need to find an exhaust system with a race silencer as the track has a noise limit. >:(

Hi Eldy, had no problems at all with the Boyer ignition, very easy to set up.

The box tucks away nice and neat behind the stock Honda coils that we use.

To fit this system, remove the auto advance bob weights and springs, then remove the points cam.
Grind off the two prongs on the points cam spindle and bolt on the new system, all instructions included.
Dead easy.

So what if the unit dies for some reason and I need to go back to points for a while? Is that possible if you grind off those parts? That might be a sticking point for this unit and might make me go dynaS as the 2000 is too pricy for me right now! ;)
