Frame identification
« on: February 15, 2024, 01:31:24 PM »
Was looking to buy a K2 750 frame. Seller sends below picture and it looked correct to me. But then I got the vin number, which starting with 21 that it should be an F bike. Anyone who can help clarify?

according to American Honda. I'm guessing the 750 part is right and the # hasn't been messed with. The "1" looks ....funny....but,
It's a frame for a '77 750F

What does the brake pedal bracket look like? F had a rear disc. If you look through the little triangle above the chain guard, there appears to be a caliper strut bracket, and the rear rim looks like an F1 wire wheel. I'm not as familiar with the European bikes though.

77F also had aluminum rear peg mounts.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

That rim looks like it has a K drum brake hub

Europe K2 ran from CB750-2100001 to CB750-2102567 and higher

F2 ran from CB750F-2100001 to CB750F-2125011

sorry for all the posts. It just hit me
What are the letters/ numbers before the 210?
CB750 means it can be a K2 as the K3's started with 220
Cb750F means "F"

U.S.

There are no letters in front of the vin number, which I have not seen before.

right...but the K's should have CB750.....
he said no.....I'm no 750 person, but is that a replacement frame?...
something isn't right about that #?....even the "0" is not even with the bottom....

That's all I know 'bout 750 frames.....I guess it can be a "K"

I decided not to buy it since I think the vin has been stamped in after it left Honda. Maybe a dealer replacement frame.

The VIN number would be correct for a EU model 750 K2 but, that VIN stamping is not original Honda font.
Trust me I'm a Nurse, I promise it won't hurt....much
