Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust system.
« on: February 22, 2024, 10:33:05 PM »
Is anyone here using the Delkevic 4 to 1 exhaust system? The price seems good, stainless steel is good.
Any issues with it?
Thanks,
Cliff.

Looks good. Centre / side stands park against the stock exhaust system. You will need a solution to stop them banging the frame.

I have one on the GS1100GL, it's well made but just a bit louder than what I would like but tolerable. I may try to modify the baffle a bit. I probably will put one on the KZ900 bike i'm working on because there's not to many companies making a pipes for these older bikes. I would love to find a KERKER but NLA. Same with V & H.  They supply a stop for the center stand typically.

We have a 550 bitsa with a Delkevic stainless 4 into 1 system. Good exhaust system and no changing of carb jets needed.
Trust me I'm a Nurse, I promise it won't hurt....much

I should be getting my Delkevic system in the next few days. My '76 750K6 had some aftermarket 4-2 pipes that are just a "bit" rusted out. After listening to bikes on YouTube, I decided to go with the "café" style pipe. I'll let you know when it's installed and the bike is running  8)

If you look at the picture It has a center stand stop with the kit , I had one on my K6, and the 550 kit has one also on my friends bike.

I've used them on a couple of CB550's. Great fit and sound. I used the straight muffler version.

FYI: The link you posted is just for the header, I think. No silencer.

Yes they are a good system without too much hassle.

Just be aware that listing is just the header pipes and collector. The mufflers are extra from that price.

There are listings that include a muffler from 4into1.com.

https://4into1.com/brands/Delkevic.html

Z1 enterprises and others also offer them.

Some stainless eventually developed a bit of staining. I wonder if Delkevic does.

Stainless turns into bronze tone by use.
The good thing is if it will turn bluish due to wrong jetting or other things making stains:
Polish the pipes back to shiny when carbs are fixed.

A long or a few rides later, even  bronze tone is back.

I have used old used grit 400 or 800.
I have Hindle ss pipes.

Delkevic 4-1 the best bang for the buck pipes. A biker friend has installed the straight muffler version. He is happy.

We've installed 3 Delkevik exhaust systems so far. One on the 77' KZ 1000, the 80' GS 1100E and the black ceramic version on the 82' CB 900F. All of them have center stand stops. We bought the megaphone version since they go better with the 80's style bikes. Fitment is good and they aren't too loud but you know it's there.

Customer service is also very good. We had an issue with a baffle, the welded on nut had broken free. They sent us a new baffle and said to keep the original one. The other issue was when we ordered the system for the 77' KZ 1000 LTD it doesn't come with a center stand so the system doesn't come with a center stand stop. I like having a center stand on chain drive bikes and had installed one on the LTD. We realized that we should have ordered a system for a KZ 1000 A model. We called to order a stop and Delkevik sent us a stop for free.

We're getting ready to order another system for the 81' Suzuki GS 1100E. 8)

Cliff,

As you know, I put one on my K5.  Fit and finish is excellent except for two things.  I had to make a mounting bolt spacer to fit because of the large diameter of the foot peg bolt (unless you want to ditch the foot peg).  And I had to find a different rubber puck for the centre stand stop.

And yes, the stainless turns bronze.

Looks good, sounds great.

Cheers,
Ross

And Cliff, if you can, you’ll save yourself time, $, and hassle if you can ship to a US pickup place.  They only ship via UPS.

I think a lot of people assume that Delkevic can't be high quality because they are not expensive. I've had one on my 2017 FJ09 and then one on my 2019 MT10. The quality is good and they've held up well. I have one sitting in the box to get installed on my 77 CB550 build. I like them and don't give a rats ass that they don't have a big reputation.
I'm not totally useless, I can still serve as a bad example

In the UK they are now doing original type for the 500 and early 550 as a complete kit with hangers, finned clamps, balance connectors, gaskets etc.
