PD46C choke and throttle tubes
« on: February 26, 2024, 01:41:14 PM »
Removed the carbs on my 1978 cb550 due to gas leaking from the fuel tube between carbs 1 and 2. Pretty black and dirty where the throttle and choke tubes fit through the carbs. I was wondering if they should be greased at those points or is that just asking for quicker buildup.
Although part of me was thinking I should separate them completely and replace all 6 o-rings, I really didn’t want to go that far. A big part of that is removing the choke plate screws. The 2 I did sheared off a couple of small curls of metal and some flakes. Well that and the springs on both.
Thoughts.

Thanks

Also, thoughts on cleaning the springs and cable connections with wd40.
