 I read a Will Rogers quote that included the term "high five" reportedly it was first implemented in 1977 in dodger stadium. It entered the Oxford dictionary in 1980 as a noun and 1981 as a verb.

 Moral of the story, Will Rogers said a lot of things he might not have said.
