Separating Rear Flashers from Mounting Brackets
« on: February 29, 2024, 11:05:05 AM »
I can't be the first one to have wrestled with this!

I'm in the process of of cleaning and touching up a number of areas on my K1 750 and I'm currently having much difficulty in separating the rear flashers from their mounting brackets.

I've tried soaking with PB Blaster and Kroil, warmed it up with a heat gun, lightly tapping a tapered wooden wedge between the bracket post and the flasher housing... all with no joy!

I'm hesitant to try prying open the expansion/clamping slot in the flasher housing for fear of cracking or breaking the clamping portion of the housing.

How do you guys, or gals, get these off without breaking anything?

Any suggestions or advice is appreciated!  ZT

Large screwdriver, widen gap.

That is the way. Only takes a little tweak to loosen.

Thanks for the nudge guys!
