Busso four into four exhaust 350F
« on: March 05, 2024, 06:43:47 AM »
I have a survivor 350F that has pretty decent original pipes but the right side bottoms are getting a bit rough.  I am looking at the Busso four into four exhaust and then take the originals off and get them possibly repaired but at least save them.  Question has anyone bought the four into four for the 350 from Busso and installed them?  I have read a couple rough stories about the fit for the 500 and the 750.  Any insight I would be grateful for .  Thanks

Several threads here about Busso, mixed results, long wait times.

I've got a set, but I haven't mounted them yet -- so I can't offer much in terms of how they actually fit. I can tell you that it was a major PITA ordering from them, with lengthy delays, weeks of lying about when they would be ready and ship (they are notorious for creating a packing label so you think they're on their way, but tracking shows nothing gets shipped for weeks or months) and errors in abundance (I ordered silencers and they sent me headers, but I had to pay customs on the price of the silencers. They eventually sent me the silencers, and I had to pay the high customs fee again, negating any "bonus" that they thought I had by getting a "free" set of headers). I also ordered the clamps and the rubber grommet, but then they told me they were included with the silencers, but when they finally came -- they weren't included. They look nice, the chrome is decent, but they aren't perfect -- there are a couple mild cosmetic issues and the silencers weren't packed very well or carefully -- perhaps out of frustration since they screwed up the first time.

There is a very long thread on Busso on this site, mostly with folks who have ordered 750 pipes including a group buy. Many are still waiting, nobody has anything really great to say about their service, and some have had issues with fitment.

With all that taken into consideration, it's up to you. Maybe someone else can chime in about fitment to add something positive (I hope...). There aren't a lot of options for the 350F, but if you are going to fix  your original pipes and then remount them, and the other set is a temporary fix, there are 4-1 options that are much cheaper, with companies that have much better reputations, like Delkevic. 400F pipes work too, but you've got to switch over the pegs, brake lever, and shift linkage (and kick starter).

Best of luck.

Hey chicken...curious why you havent?

I've got a two bikes in AZ that I want to bring down here but honestly... I've been lazy about it. I've got a 350F here with a tired engine, but it's enough to get me to work and back. The 550F I'm bringing is in excellent shape, and the other 350F is the one I want to use the Busso pipes on, but it's going to need some (mostly cosmetic) work. I'm working on tank, fork ears, and side covers now, almost ready for painting. But in the next couple of weeks I hope to arrange for those bikes to come down (or I guess I will do it next time I am in PHX, in May or June). Just been busy and it's not a priority, but I wanted those pipes because I knew at some point I'd get to the project... and at some point I will... And when the time comes, I am hoping that they fit well (after all of the bu115hizz I (and everyone else) has been through.

I bet you can make them fit with a little "finessing".
I've fit two different set of aftermarket pipes [but not Busso] and it seems like they never wanna fit perfect but in the end they did and look great.  Stock pipes that have been removed and reinstalled are always an easier install.

Thanks so far for all of the responses.  I like the look of the four into four and I see on Ebay there  are pipes on there but mostly from Europe and not sure how good they really look since everything looks better in pictures.  These pipes from the top and the side on my bike look perfect.  You get on the ground especially the right side they don't look very good with the typically corrosion underneath where the silencers meet the headers.  My CB500 72 pipes look about as good as they can get for not being brand new.  My 350F has 5900 miles on it.

I have seen reproduction sets from Japan likely Sanki the original Honda supplier and they were available about 6 years ago on EBay from a US reseller. Quality is excellent as I have a set on my restored 1972 CB 350F presently, yet they were around $2K Canadian all in at the time. I recall the US pricing was around $1300. back then and may no longer be available for sale.
Ask DSS in the US as David really likes the CB small fours and supports the parts supplies for them.

There is a Honda dealer in SW Ontario who has a NOS single pipe system for sale not sure which one for $800 Canadian on Kijiji

At one time Yamiya had a 4-4 set for the 400 fours, they may also fit the 350.

I just checked and Yamiya and Wemoto are both O/S yet someone may do a run again and the quality is worth the price if that happens.

Here's what the system looks like and it uses all the Hondas part numbers, just not the Honda name on the cans as originally done.
