Ah okay so just confirming
These WILL work on a cb350f?

https://www.common-motor.com/honda-cb550-cb550k-cb550f-point-set

I wouldn't use those garbage Daichi points.
See my reply #6  'red Honda packages'. The original Honda(mfg. stamped into them)parts will last.
I'm not certain if you can find the entire points plate with both points, condensers and wires.
Purchase them from Yamiya.  Spend the $ once and enjoy quality ignition for years to come.

I have looked for NOS Honda parts on Ebay using the Honda part numbers and was fortunate before.
I have also hunted on Ebay and used the NOS 'ND tune up kits' which are Made in Japan and they're good quality.

Try searching Ebay using different search words like 'CB550 ND Tune Up kit' or 'CB350F ND Tune Up Kit' similar or even 'OEM Honda CB550 part#...... for both sets of points and condensers.

I like using the vintage 'ND Tune Up Kit' by itself sometimes.. also using the CB750,CB550,CB500,CB400F,CB350F in different word searches too..

This thread inspired me to examine my own set.

Sad day. Daichi points and condensers. TEC plate. Oh well. It’s only money

(sigh) Have OEM. Excellent and lasting quality and a set will therefor hold its value. The value of your bike actually increases by the amount you have spent. Future buyer will appreciate you gave your bike nothing but the best.

Exactly. I know quite some owners that had satisfactorily results with them. US is flooded by counterfeit products. The public is primed to buy stuff as cheap as possible, so they can buy more, which is the magic word: more for less. A friend of mine, a retired flight engineer on the old version 747, has even seen counterfeit brake parts in Florida for jets like he was on, with the numbers and all....

That little propeller indicates Daiichi.

That little propeller indicates Daiichi.

Just looking at these IMHO they qualify as "old" but I will treat the included condensers as suspect. I do have a set of OEM used condensers.

Daichii was common in the 80's too.
I got an issue on a vacation ride when 1  Daichii point broke, the bakelite part to cam.
It had been used max 5000km.

TEC setup better for 2-3 adjustment.

I had a box of old point plates I replaced in the 80's.
One was TEC so I could reuse it for the TEC points I had found cheap.

I did not know about the differences back then. Maybe replaced TEC just for sure or a bad condenser. A complete plate was my way.

I was a Honda tec in the mid to late 70's and it was quite common to fit Daichi points and condensers with no problems at all

Yep, same here, but that's the difference between US and European market. I have been surprised about all the complaints, so I concluded that US did not have the Made in Japan Daiichi, but Chinese counterfeits.

I used to always use Daiichi points and condensors because that was what my local motorcycle shop had in stock, on the shelf, walk in and buy it whenever needed.  I did not know any better.  They would last anywhere from 1 to 10 thousand miles.  I thought that was just the best points ignition could do.   Finally got to the point where I bought 2 brand new condensors and one lasted 70 miles replaced and then the other one broke 20 miles later.  By then, I had amassed quite a collection of used sets pulled off parts bikes and found at swap meets, all oem.  I have ridden for years now needing very minor attention to the ignition, of course check them once in a while, once in a longer while they need a minor adjustment, tens of thousands of miles.

If you find that little 3 vaned propeller on your ignition parts, just chuck em in the trash.  They WILL leave you on the side of the road, if your bike ever even comes out of the garage.
If it works good, it looks good...
