Seeking Exhaust Innards Removal Advice
« on: March 08, 2024, 12:32:03 AM »
I'm trying to swap the innards from my old exhaust pipe into a used replacement. In spite of removing the bolt at the back, it doesn't want to budge using my slide hammer. If you have successfully removed one yourself, I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.
Thanks.

if the muffler is off and of a straight-through design, you might be able to tap out the baffle from the header side, using a wooden pole (broomstick or similar).
but yeah, for better advice it would help to know what you're working on.

HM300 Exhaust baffle?
Did you add some heat to the muffler?
Maybe make a hook to attach to a slide hammer?

Yes, I'm referring to the stock HM300 exhaust on a K1, so only the back end is accessible. I did try hooking my slide hammer to it but no luck. Does anyone know if this is a press fit?
