Baffle recommendation for aftermarket exhaust
« on: March 18, 2024, 03:40:30 PM »
Hello!
I'm about to start my second season of riding the 750K4 I brought back to life. The bike is running well, but the exhaust is too loud for my tastes. Hurts my ears if I'm out on the open road for extended periods.
I've tried to search the internet for baffles that would fit into these pipes, but no luck. I think these are pretty common pipes from back in the day.  Can someone please point me in the direction of a product that will help quiet this beast a bit?

Thanks!

Those look like a set of MAC 4-2 pipes? Search for MAC baffles that look like the ones in the attached photo. Push them in until they are snug, measure carefully and drill from below for a locking screw through the end plate. I see a hole in you pipes, it might even line up!

I made really nice ones from the stainless steel drain insert for metal sinks. Solder a piece of 1.5” copper drain pipe into the stainless flared part that is long enough to jam in the pipe further up. Drill the copper pipe full of holes and you are done……

To get it even quieter, wrap the pipe (after drilling holes into it), with  fibre glass baffle cloth. I use and old piece welder’s blanket.
