How to attach fuel tank emblem?
« on: March 31, 2024, 10:01:39 AM »
Hi, I have a '73 CB350F and need to attach the fuel tank emblems. Pics show the 2 nubs on the back of the emblem and the holes they go into.

What is a good way to attach them securely? Some kind of adhesive but what kind so that if I ever need to remove them, the paint will note also come off?

Are those aftermarket badges without the pegs?

If so, probably 3M double sided tape.

If original badges with the pegs, you can order from Honda the little buttons that fit inside the holes on the side of the gas tank.  These buttons are the locks for the pegs.

Something like this: Note, these are not for your specific tank I don't think, but may be.

Yes, they are aftermarket. I will get the pegs and use the 3M tape as well. Thanks!

The pegs are part of the badge not seperate
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

With aftermarket emblems with no pegs, no need to get the things they fit into on the other side of the mount.

But for the record, they're available OEM from Honda, just got four from a dealer in Seattle.

That bike looks very nice. I’d get the correct Honda badges for sure……

Funny how an aftermarket part maker just omits a key feature. What are they thinking?

Clearly working with 3M!
