What is a 2 hole DID Wheel really worth?
« on: April 12, 2024, 11:54:05 AM »
Have a really nice complete rear wheel with no rust and looks like super low mileage as brake surface and shoe look barely use. Has a raised DID stamp in the rim. Is $400 to much ?

Thank you

You might get that much for it from the right collector.
Is it yours or are you looking at getting it?

I'm in southern NH. I saw your profile shows Northeast. Where at?

A picture would help. A clean, rolled edge rim, with a two hole hub, complete with matching brake, for a “Sandcast”? $400 for sure.

Yes a photo is needed, lots depend on condition too. Though sandcast stuff isn't as desirable as it was a few years ago, so don't get too excited

I recently got a 2 hole hub and rim for $260 and a front K0 wheel, rotor speedo drive, axle and hub for $110. I consider both a smoking deal.  Found by persistence on ebay.
For those that don't know, the 2 hole rear hub (inside vent holes between the brake drum and cush drive) and rolled edge rim came on the early K0 CB750's. The front wheel is also different with a different speedometer drive, wider hub and rotor with no taper on the aluminum flange.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

The wheel chrome is not great. You should still get $250-300.

Brake might be a good one with asbestos ;)
If wheel is complete, not only hub, rim and spokes, price must reflect that.
Sprocket carrier and brake cover with everything cost some too.
