Stainless Oil Lines — source/repair/Rafi?
« on: April 13, 2024, 10:31:20 AM »
I while ago I bought stainless oil lines from Rafi/Edwardmorris

They were great but during this most recent rebuild, I must have damaged one of them and it is leaking.

Does anybody actually know Rafi? I messaged him here and on Facebook, but it appears he rarely checks either.

I had a phone number for him but it no longer works?

So anybody know how to get in touch with him OR know a person that can fix stainless oil lines?

Thank you for any help.

Is it leaking somewhere along the hose or where it fits to the end

It should be an alu washer on tank side.
A leak there will follow the hose.

That has to be some heavy physical damage to do that

Rafi has checked in here within the last year.  He still owns his cb750 but I am pretty sure he has been too busy to do more with the oil lines, unfortunately.  Plus, I think I remember him posting that the shop he had doing them closed.

Following, because I need some too!

Is his name Kenny Osberg? There was a guy on Facebook making some beautiful oil lines but no longer does it.(I wish I had the money as I had planned on getting 6 sets, but didn't have the money so I never ordered any.....
He removed the old ends and polished them before adding the new hoses and crimps.

There is one guy in Germany too. Send him an old setup of oil lines or more.
He returns them as new.
I think he took €90/set + shipping.
I let him do 2 sets last time.
Ny K2 has black lines from him.

I dont think that is him, they look different.

SKTP -  Search for a local hydraulic line store in your area, maybe they can make a repair?

Or, Carpy sells some but the fitting looks odd...

Yeah, Those are straight lines with worm drive screw clamps to clamp on to your old end fittings with a cheesy cover over the screw clamp.

Yeah, Those are straight lines with worm drive screw clamps to clamp on to your old end fittings with a cheesy cover over the screw clamp.

Back in 1992 I did my K2 using a braided stainless hose made by Earls, and those clamps and it has worked fine all of these years ;-).

Might be Earls Eco braid maybe ? The "cheesey" ends hide the clamps pretty good.
