He's a cautionary tale about carb boots and band clamps...
I've been chasing down some poor running issues on my K7, and discovered that the band clamps on the intake side of the carb had been hitting the screws holding the carbs to the rack, and therefore the boot hadn't been pushed on all the way.
The non-OEM replacement clamps have a ridge around the outside which is taller than the OEM clamps, and hits the carb rack screws when pushed on, leaving the carb boots a few mm from being fully seated. In hindsight, this was evident by the airbox screws not lining up properly with the frame (I had to lever on the airbox to get them started).
