I used to wonder why so many people take strange pictures of their bikes, but then I figured out it's my computer.
Why does my screen cut off the last right side inch of pictures?  I see most of the bike except for 2/3 of the front wheel.

Anyway, Bill, it's probably etched into your brain.  It travels through your nerves, onto the keyboard, and into our screens.  It's a good thing you're on our side.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Ernie, do you see sliders below and/or to the side of the picture?
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Thank you! I've always taken for granted that what ever was on a Race Bike, was there for a definite purpose and not for looks.

Way freakin cool, I agree with proteal55  (sorry mgmuellner)  You will be hard pressed to find any RC (Honda factory gp bikes) or CR bikes (privateer kits for road bikes) that used what appears to be flat stock of some sort with holes drilled in it.  It was all tubular or round stock.  I used Tubular aluminum stock and pressed the ends shut and polished it...what they used in that picture looks like corner bead for drywall!!!!

Well Ward, personally, I don't seehe big deal about the material used for the exhaust brackets.  I don't imagine that the bike will perform poorly because of it. While the choice of material may, or may not be exact, it's still basically the way they were mounted. Here's another one of an earlier period and it has a different exhaust.   Later on, Bill  :) ;)

I never said it was an exact duplication.  The poster asked "what's up with the bracket" not "what's up with that period imperfect flat stock bracket"   :D

"What's up with the exhaust/hanger bracket?"

How about using words to explain what is being asked? ??? Is the question, Why The Holes or. Is the question, why is it mounted that way or what? ??? A clue could be given in the original question, don't ya think? ??? Myself, I don't see how it really matters. After all, it is a RACE bike.  ::)

Hey Bob- yeah- thanks!

Uncle E, if your monitor will support higher resolutions, you may want to try upping the resolution; however, this will make the print smaller and possibly harder to read.  If you don't want to bother with this, then just use the sliders as mentioned.

Oh and Bill, that's a sweet bike!

         Thanks xTalon,
I thought that they were pretty tough looking and thought some others might enjoy them as well. I'll bet they'd be a blast to ride too! ;) 8)

Didn't mean to start a war or anything..
All I was saying was is that massive/ugly/monster of an exhaust bracket needed ?
I dont care if Mr. Honda rode that bike himself, that exhaust bracket is still out of control...

You won't find any tears here. ;D  I grew out of that years ago. ;D And to set the record straight, I posted the bike because I liked the fact that it was a 450 the fact that it was bike designed similar to the old racers. opinions  shared, is one thing and everybody's got them I know. You may not mean it to come out the way it does but, it seams like your comments have a tendacy to say that it shouldn't be this way or it should be that way. Personally, I don't have the experience to build a proper road race bike and I've been around and dealing with motorcycles (one way or another) since I can remember and I started riding back in 1961. As for age, I'm 60. Been around for quite a while and intend to be around for quite awhile longer. Why don't we just get on with doing what this place is all about, "Sharing and Learning."  ???
