My K1 750 is Getting Close - Final Assembly Sequence?
« on: May 27, 2024, 11:25:25 AM »

I feel like I'm getting close now but would appreciate suggestions on the best final front end assembly sequence.  Here's where I'm at now...

At the moment, I'm planning to install:

1) Front Fender
2) Front Caliper
3) Front Wheel
4) Handlebar Assembly with L&R wiring harnesses, throttle cables, master cylinder and brake feed lines
5) Speedo & Tach with wiring harnesses and cables
6) Headlight Shell and internal wiring

For those who do a lot of this stuff, is this the best order to assemble these front end components most efficiently and with the least likelihood of scratching any of the new paint?

I also need to fit my new Busso exhaust pipes and I'm thinking now would be a good time with all the extra room I have, just in case it turns into a wrestling match.  Unfortunately, the angle iron support frame holding up the back of the bike is attached to the same rear passenger peg holes where the exhaust pipes attach and, if I'm not mistaken, the wooden box under the engine will have to go before fitting the pipes.  So I'm thinking I'll need both wheels on the bike to install the pipes?

Any other suggestions, tips, or advice appreciated!  ZT

Thanks for the feedback 69cb750.  I'm finishing up step 2 now.

Yep!  44' X 48' and I'm still running out of space.

The red convertible is a 1975 Buick Custom LeSabre; one of the last of the big convertibles.
Most everything I own is from the 70s.
