Does anyone really need a Ferrari when you have a Honda CB.  It's not about owning things but trying to understand what makes something special.

The Candy Gold Honda restoration has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I am extremely grateful to all the SOHC forum members who have generously helped me along the way.    One day I will ride the fire breathing dragon (ethanol free, of course) but for me it's the actual nuts and bolts day-to-day journey that is the real thrill.

Slow progress vs Instant gratification. Thank You Gentlemen!

It is impossible for AI to answer the following question/equation because it is pure nonsense

Does V12 = 3X inline 4 = 2X inline 6?

It always amazed me the difference between a hot-rodded inline Chevy 6 and an inline Honda 6. One sounds like a tractor and one sounds like a formula car.

The CB750 sound is a complete joy.    I like to start up the bike just to hear the roar and rumble of the pipes.  I can actually hear the carbs sucking in air like a fire breathing beast.

. . . but the 6 cylinder CBX 1000 is on another level - other worldly jet engine Amazing  :)

Is that the Ferrari that sold on Barrett Jackson a couple days ago for 35 million?
I can't imagine that kind of money!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

The AI answer was actually surprisingly good  ;)

In terms of cylinder count and architecture, your assessment is partially correct:

V12 = 2x Inline-6 (True): A V12 engine is physically and mechanically comparable to two inline-six (I6) engines joined at a common crankshaft. Because an I6 has perfect primary and secondary balance, a V12 effectively doubles this, resulting in an exceptionally smooth engine that does not require balance shafts.

V12 = 3x Inline-4 (False): While the cylinder math matches (3 x 4 = 12), a V12 is almost never described or engineered as three joined inline-four engines. Inline-four engines are not inherently balanced; they suffer from secondary vibrations that require heavy counterweights or balance shafts. Joining three of them would not yield the natural, vibration-free operation for which the V12 is famous.

Those two CBXs look great, my one ride on one years ago was memorable, it was turbine smooth and just wanted to go very fast.
