Nice!  Always loved the CL's exhaust...

On this CL200 I had, the exhaust had to come off to remove the cover!

That does not sound like Honda engineering...
It's the same with the early CL350's. I think in '72 they changed the side cover design so you could just barely get it off without pulling the exhaust, if you were careful.

It’s so you don’t break the mounting tabs?

Nice bike, Scott! I’ve rarely seen one so intact. Mine was missing the front exhaust shields.

Wow, that's only the 2nd or maybe 3rd blue one I've ever seen! Beauty, too. :)

A mate & I did a day trip to Dubbo to grab this thing for a song last year.

A bit of fiddling to get it sorted & now ready for my first proper ride.

Lucky enough to have a CL175 too.

The CL175 was the first bike I ever rode. My dad bought one for my mom to ride, she tried a bit in the yard and even though she grew up on stick shift cars she never did get the hang of a motorcycle clutch. So I ended up riding it around the 40 acres behind us quite a bit. Then when I aged to 16 I got my temps one summer and rode it and then my actual endorsement the next summer. I swear it would run 80mph flat out, and get 80 mpg as well.
