XXS Helmet needed
« on: March 14, 2007, 08:17:33 AM »
I was unsure how to go about getting this out to other SOHC members. I am hoping one of our members may have one for sale or to donate.

I am looking for a XXS helmet for my daughter Samantha. As some of you may know, she is a petite little girl, age-5, who loves to go riding with our local group.

Last year, the only helmet we could find to fit her was a bicycle helmet. Which was fine when we only took rides around the block or over to the neighboring townships on the back roads. Concerned for her safety, I really don't like the idea of her wearing a "bicycle helmet" again this year as she is getting old enough to accompany us on longer rides. I'd like to find one with a face shield, as she is not fond of wind in her face at 60mph.

I am finding that very few companies manufacture helmets for children. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, DrMark

Looks like DrMark needs even smaller than what I posted; but maybe the manufacturer can help him out.

Thanks Bob for making the connection.

Thanks to everyone that sent e-mail in regards to a XXS small helmet for my daughter. I finally found a good deal on EBAY for a HJC Full-face helmet in gloss black. Almost an exact situation like mine. Purchased for his little girl in 2003. Worn maybe 4-5 times. Looked to be in great shape, never dropped or crashed. Total cost with S/H was $35.

Side Question: When did little girls become so fashion conscience? She is already asking about putting PINK FLAMES over the high-glass black. Now I'll have to look for a decal set of pink flames or ask the local body shop to paint it for her...LOL. DrMark

Bob....she has the pink boots, the pink paisley "do-rag" and a pink biker t-shirt. She wears them to our local "bike-night" and on some of our shorter club rides. At age 5, she is becoming quite an a accomplished motorcycle passenger rider on my CB550K. But, I do have to keep a SNACK BAG on the luggage rack.....I think she has a hollow leg.....loves to eat.

So far she has not asked for PINK LEATHERS...lol
