Adieu to Françoise Hardy
« on: June 12, 2024, 05:07:09 AM »
A French national treasure passed away today. Although she sang in several languages, her popularity was mainly in France. Nonetheless she had many admirers, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger once famously called her the "ideal woman", while fellow singer-songwriter Bob Dylan penned several love letters to her.

Besides her career in music, she appeared in several movies, including John Frankenheimer's 1966 "Grand Prix".

Dors bien Françoise.

I remember her, she was the jr. Ferrari drivers girlfriend that dumped him for the guy on the scooter in Gran Prix.

Spot on.  :)

In Grand Prix she hooked up with the driver Nino Barlini whose character was an amalgam of John Surtees and Lorenzo Bandini.

Her character in the movie famously did not drink, did not smoke, did not dance and when asked by Barlini in a disco "what do you do" she gave an unmistakable response.
