A French national treasure passed away today. Although she sang in several languages, her popularity was mainly in France. Nonetheless she had many admirers, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger once famously called her the "ideal woman", while fellow singer-songwriter Bob Dylan penned several love letters to her.
Besides her career in music, she appeared in several movies, including John Frankenheimer's 1966 "Grand Prix".
Dors bien Françoise.
