I especially love it when the exhaust cans are "improved" and become neighborhood hearing hazards.

It's a great bike, no doubt about it, but ya gotta be a younger somewhat more limber individual to really appreciate it's attributes. Just a tough everyday rider for the more mature individual... Eye candy, that's it...

Well, I'm 61 and have a garage full of Honda CB's and other various old street bikes, but I came across this 1989 Honda VTR 250 a few years ago and had to have it, it's very 'Miami Vice-y" (I used to live there in the 80's); and boy I'm glad I got it!

I had to get it going of course - dropped and painted the engine, did the carbs, etc..., but it only had 5K on the odometer and is the "Odd Bike Out" in my garage full of classics but I love it! You DO have to tuck into it and it's a bit small for me - I'm 6'1" and a svelte 240 lbs - but MAN is she fun to ride! It's made for twisties, very nimble and a definite grin-maker. Just sayin.' :D

And a 14,000 RPM top end!

It has changed my perspective on sport bikes, since I was never a real fan of them - I'm no speed freak - but I have to admit they do grow on you. I'd love to find a 1989 Yamaha FZR600, with the two headlights, it's a very cool looking bike.

Anyway - thought I'd share.

I had a 89' FZR 600, always thought it looked like a VHS box. It was too hard on the wrists and back imo. I would have absolutely traded you for the VTR 250 though, Ive always wanted one of those!

I recently was looking around for a comfortable Sport Bike, thought a 600 might be good.
I found a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer,an 08' S2(2nd gen)and it's a 600cc with factory fuel injection and an Oxygen sensor & CAT;the bike is completely stock & I like the quiet exhaust.
The engine is a slightly detuned version of the 02/03' R6 sportbike;the R6 has a crazy top-end;this one is more tuned for improved low-midrange w/ Plenty of Kick after 7000rpm.
The bike is very comfortable to ride and the pegs are in a good place,it also uses a tubular 7/8" pair of handlebars which allow me to sit straight-up  w/ my arms fully extended.
I like the dark blue, although the PO dropped it onto a curb while sitting at the edge of his driveway and dented the tank. I can live with it.
The small displacement gives it less kick down low,but that's good for slow & relaxed riding and roughly 55mpg;I've been hunting around for a Givi hard saddlebag rack #PL360 and they're very difficult to find, here's hoping I can find one off of a wrecked 07'+ S2,or salvage.
I don't like only using a knapsack to go get groceries.
