thanks RAFster122s this has definitely come a long way from that first pic from the beer can days LOL! I can see when I am working on all of these pieces how a mill or a 3D printer or a CNC would give me the ability to mass produce everything but like everything I have made the little mistakes, deep grooves, thicker fins, casting pores I think it makes the pieces stand out and when I put the wolf550 on them Im glad that someone appreciated it enough to want it

been a bit but after the brazing rods didnt work I ordered an aluminum melting stick that came today. I think it was jb weld in stick form. after that didnt work I decided to go ahead and remove some weight from the cover.

Wow, those should turn heads and confuse exspurt 'vintuge bike spy-ers' in a quick drive-by! :D
Are you going to leave them naked (and shiny?) or make them look more 'Hollywood' with some color(s)?
I remember seeing some CB500 side covers (in a long-ago show) done with chrome paint: the builder didn't smooth off the plastic covers first, so it lost its impact, looking like painted-over rippled plastic instead of chrome-ish. Otherwise it was a nice, faired, cafe' streeter.

I still have mine in storage, waiting for the right bike to come along in the future to use them on, found a guy in Europe who chromes head light buckets too. Those fins look good, did you mill that?

hey shtonecb500  those side covers you polished are the shizzzzz. the closest thing to a mill is my angle grinder to grind lines for in between the fins, then my trusty black and decker drill that I used with a tungsten carbide deburring tip (that took awhile) and then my bastard rasp and then.... the sand paper.

had time today to work on the cover for gurp did some more sanding out the more heavier scratches but every time I would start on the smaller ones I would get more heavier scratches again so I went up to 800 but the lighter scratches remained. I think this one is good to go gurp.

That does look nice.
A bit of time on a buffing wheel would really make it shine!
