"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

We normally stay in Adele because it's closer to the track. Hampton Inn, Days Inn and Super 8 are the hoelsts there. A few sit down restaurants like Sizzler, Mexican food and chinese along the,Huddle house and Waffle house. Fast food places also. 12 minutes to the dragstrip is more convenient for me than 35-40 minutes in Valdosta just to haven a bigger variety of restaurants or watering holes

If you're looking for a hotel near SGMP in Valdosta, I've stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites Valdosta Mall Area, and it was a good choice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was close to the track and had plenty of dining options. Another option is the Hilton Garden Inn Valdosta, which offers excellent service and facilities like a pool and fitness center.
Although it's not in Valdosta, I've also visited these resorts in Branson, Missouri. The experience there was fantastic, with plenty of entertainment options and beautiful views. It's definitely worth checking out if you're ever in that area.

Mark, is that the one in Adel, if it is, it's ok and there is a breakfast bar next to the hotel which is handy.
