How does it track in soft,swamp type wet ground ?

Bill…. No idea. It’s been so dry here this summer I’m not likely to find out.

Got a chuckle yesterday. The manual for the LM650 clearly states to use ONLY “Mobil Fluid 424” in the front differential. 150 ml/ 5 oz. I shopped around and in Canada the smallest amount I could find was a 5 gallon pail! Needed some other small bits so ordered it from the Land Master. What they sent is labeled “Hilliard Differential Oil”. When I asked; “Oh, that will be fine too”! I guess they go with whoever gives them a good deal. The oil I drained out looked spotless. Good for another 8 years……

The rear transfer case will be more of a challenge. The manual states to “remove the bottom drain plug”. Unfortunately it’s bolted down TIGHT against to a piece of 1/4” plate steel with no access hole! I’ll have to remove the case to drain it. Might try the Mity-Vac and see if that will suck out the 85/95 oil?

Bill….. When I really dug in, discovered the 90 degree transfer case has 4 X bolts up through the bottom, mounted through two pieces of 1.5” X 1.5” angle iron. The brackets are bolted to the driveline frame. By unbolting it all, I was able to get to the plug, drain it and install fresh oil. I also made a little dip stick, so I can check the level from above. The oil that came out was spotless and the manual calls for change every 800 hours! I won’t have to do it again, but I now have a base line.

There’s an hour meter on the dash (102 hrs. total) and I know ALL the fluids are fresh. “Happyish”. The only thing left on the list is a small repair to the roof. At some point it must have caught a large branch with the RF. Tore a small corner off and the continuous vibration is extending a tear in the plastic. Needs a mending plate. I enjoy working on this little beast, everything is so accessible and simple.

That is a cool looking machine with the extra seat row! What engine is in that. It seems they stopped using Subaru after 2016?

 697cc KOHLER COMMAND PRO twin cylinder and I think its rated at 27HP. Looks like yours has the same fold down windshield. Feels good to have a little wind in your face on hot summer days

My buddy has a 2013 Kawasaki Mule on his Ranch, his ranchhand complained it was not running well at all.  I was concerned the motor may be worn, it has 4500 hours.  Took it to another buddies shop, he works on them all the time.  First off, gave it a compression check. the two cyl were 110 & 120 psi, seemed good to me.  Then checked spark, only 1 was firing, turns out #1 coil was bad. An $81 OEM Kawasaki coil from Amazon got it back running good!  There were cheaper aftermarket coils but chose to go OEM.

Stev-o,a couple 'cylinder soaks' with a few ounces of Seafoam in each cylinder might help loosen-up the carbon enough to get his compression back up(not sure what is factory recommended)a good bit. Get that Mule kickin' with both legs Again.  :D

Steve….. Nice Save! With only 102 hours on the LM650, I should be good for a while. I bolted on a small stitch plate were the roof is cracked this morning and though I was finished with it.  My wife spotted one with extended sides on the box (stakes?) and seems to think that would be useful. Looking for some scrap 1”x3” lumber next….. Never done!

It’s missed a few times for me, but I have a spare solenoid for the old FORD truck, sitting on my shelves. We’ll see.

That's also an old Chevrolet with headers starter trick, I'm not sure why but it worked well.

Definitely a UTV (Utility vs. ATV all terrain vehicle). What I meant was the old Yamaha G1 golf cart seems to be less attractive to the kids than “Ruby”.

Still running poorly if I maintain full throttle for more than 100’. Installed the new Amazon fuel pump ($12.99) today and problem seems to be solved!

Fuel pump did NOT solve the problem, but I did! Drained the fuel again today and almost immediately it trickled down to a drip….. Let it take it’s time and when dry, pulled the bottom fitting. Sure enough, ANOTHER piece broken off gas cap when someone tried to remove the lanyard. This part had a nipple on one side that was just the right size to plug the outlet. Of course it is too big to come out the bottom, so had to pull the tank and shake it out the top!

Well at least now I’m confident there is nothing else in there! No wonder the previous owner wanted rid of it. Hopefully, mad perseverance pays dividends?
