Points harness question
« on: August 04, 2024, 05:32:28 PM »
New harness coming out of the points cover for dynatek electronic ignition...
Does the points harness run behind the shift drum cover or between the points cover and the shifter cover, and then above the shifter cover? I'll post a pic and if yall can tell me how to run this harness I'd be much abliged. Thanks btw for the advise on the stator cover got that figured out.

I assume that’s a cb550? Runs under the clutch cover, they way you have it in your pic.

Hey Buck
Mmmmm. Don't you mean the kick start cover? Right side of the bike from your picture and not the shift cover? The shift cover is on the left side of the bike. Having a brain fart?
When you post a new subject, please include what bike it is so there isn't any confusion.
If this is on your 550(I had to do a detective search of your posts, I hate to assume....), there should be a flexible cable stay on one of the engine bolts under the case to hook and hold the points lead as it runs from the outlet of the points housing to the bottom edge of the cases and back under the right side crankcase/clutch cover and up as you have it in your picture. I don't have a 550 to take a picture of it.
