Well, I did something I am quite happy about today. I was moving the bike to my new home here and my chopper Bro Spiderchopper mentioned that his grandson was looking to get a crotchrocket as a learner. One of his main concerns was that if he dropped the bike, all those plastic pieces would shatter and cost a small fortune to replace each time, not to mention the power to weight ratio and everything else. The more we talked, the better my idea sounded to me, so I offered the K8 to the grandson. We worked everything out and they are happy as can be. Grandson has a new bike to learn on, grandpa has another CB750 in the family, and I have Rita to finish. Now, if grandson drops the bike, all those crashguards and rails with protect the vitals, he'll be able to get it back up and keep riding.
Spiderchopper and I were going to figure out the wiring problem as he is also a wiring whiz, but he and grandson will work it together and enjoy the together time. The rest of the things the bike needs are mostly just cleanup items, and an HM405 pipe, which I have already sourced for $200.00, the only place I could find it. So, with just a few hundred into it, they will have a great running bike, ready for a life of riding with the next generation of Honda afficionados.
Peace and Long Rides,
Jeff
