78K8 weird ignition switch

I'm working on a friend's K8 that the ignition switch has 3 detent positions, off, on, (all 3 positions have the headlight on and starter operates with the start button), 1st detent headlight on, the taillight is off, starter spins with the button, the 2nd has all lights on and start spins with the button, the 3rd has taillight, dash lights are still lit and starter spins with the button(as apposed to my K8 with 2 detents of off, on and park). I have more testing to do tomorrow.....
Is this maybe an aftermarket ign switch? Seems strange to me having a 3rd detent.
I noticed that the taillight wasn't working in the 1st detent that caught my attention checking the lights on the bike.
Any insights?

Can't help with aftermarket, as my K8 is like yours, which I believe is the factory ignition switch.

Off > Ign On with headlamp/tail and start button works, > Park with just tail lamp, start button does not work.

Then push in to the left of OFF for Lock.
