I finally got my tank cleaned out and de-rusted (and I removed a failed POR-15 liner). Got the petcock setup, put some fuel in the tank, and a bit splashed on the paint — it instantly melted into a goop. I guess the last guy painted the tank with paint that is fuel soluble, good move buddy.
After being pissed for a couple hours, I decided it’s an opportunity for me to make the paint color original again (was just solid black instead of the glory blue black of the 74 CB350F).
2 related questions:
1. Do you know where i can get good quality automotive paint that could match the original "Glory Blue Black", which does have metallic flake in it. I do have a sample of the original.
2. How do you get the badges of the tank and the side covers. Mine are in pretty good shape and I would hate to damage them.
