Did Ken have anything to say about how he feels about the 750 now, after all the TLC it's been receiving from you ?

Yes, I think he has a special bond with this bike.  He said he might come and see it again on he way back from Arizona.  He goes there for the Winter...

Thanks Stu.  I took Ryder5 for a 10 mile ride and I just wanted to keep running... mile after mile, like Forrest Gump.
Your thread was brought back up this morning so I reread your story again as a refresher for me as you did get the full treatment from Ryder5 Cedric. I'm sorry that you didn't make BOTM as you certainly deserved it and it has been a pleasure to follow along with your life story.
A couple things though, what size pistons did you get in your revival? I saw that they were higher compression but not the specifics of them.
Are you tucked away for a long winter's slumber or are you living in a warm climate 🤔? We never heard where you reside now....I'm here in NH, near where you have been in your youth and the snow is here so my bikes are under covers to keep the dust off in my warm shop out of the elements. I've been busy working on my project bikes and rebuilding carbs for friend's 750s and a 500/4. I trust you and Ryder5 are doing well. Please keep us informed about your rides and how Ryder5 is doing.  God's Blessings to you.

I appreciated your note Stu.  I stay in Cheyenne WY all year and work on projects in my heated workshop.  The Winter in Cheyenne is about like Denver, as we are only 100 miles north.  I have been rebuilding GL1000 carburetors and selling them on eBay to help replenish my motorcycle fund.  Restoring that K0 was expensive :).  I have 9 GL1000 carb sets to rebuild.  You asked about the pistons I used... I believe Ken from Cycle-X told me he bored it one size over stock.  He recommended these pistons, so I know he has had good luck with them.  The pistons have a small dome and are ceramic coated on the top.  The sides have "Armor Glide" coating.  The bike runs great and I think the pistons will work fine for a long time :).

I've been to Cheyenne, I stopped by the Steam Museum on my 1800 wing and loved the ride through the Snowy Range. I lived up in Breckenridge in 79 and 80 when I had my K6 and rode all over Colorado during the summer and fall, then went to California and Daytona over that winter before returning in May to build more ski homes.
I've rebuilt my 83 GL1100 carbs. Do you use Randakks Master kit? Best kit and only place to get the center plenum seal from.
So we're the the pistons an 811/812 kit? That would be the next step up with higher compression. I think he sells that kit.

You have had some good rides!  I have ridden across the Snowy range several times and it is very nice.  Another part of Wyoming that people miss are the Big Horn Mountains near Buffalo WY.  If you ride to Yellowstone, go through the Big Horns and then take the Chief Joseph Hwy and then to Bear Tooth Pass.  Back to the pistons...I don't think the ones he sold me were 811, but I am not sure.  I think they were just one size larger than stock, but he does sell a couple of kits with these pistons.  I have used Randakk's master kits in the past, but now I buy a mix of his Viton parts and use other sources to save money.  I use Viton rubber for all the fuel seals and  O-rings.  The Randakk parts are top quality.

I have been to the Big Horns on my 1 trip across the country, though it was in a pickup, on our way to Yellowstone in October of 77. It is some beautiful country up there. I've been 3 years without a ride so maybe this summer I'll have to get back out there for rideabout.

Stu- Thanks for nominating this bike for BOM:  Here is a link to see more pictures after it was restored.

Also, here is a link that has pictures of my 1971 CB750 that I did a couple of years ago.  I painted it using paint from the Coating Store. It runs fantastic!  This bike looked like it belonged in a junk yard when I started.

You are welcome brother. You deserve a BOTM win.
I remember you showing the K1 painting progress. Nicely done on it.
Yes Cody loved riding and he was faithful unless there was a female in heat, then he'd be gone and I'd get a call from the kennel up the road that he was hounddoggin.....

That was one cool setup you had for Cody.  He looked right at home on the bike.  Too bad he liked "girls" more than riding, but that is kind of the way it goes.  Your post made me laugh :).
