Thanks Stu.  I took Ryder5 for a 10 mile ride and I just wanted to keep running... mile after mile, like Forrest Gump.

I am pretty much done with this project and very happy with the bike.  Here are some pictures and I hope

Excuse me for interrupting, this is the motorcycle, and I have a few things to say…  I was very sick and almost died, but my new owner, Ryder5, saved my life.  It is really hard to believe I had so many problems including, but not limited to:  cancer all over my body, a bad ticker, broken and cracked body parts, bad case of hemorrhoids, camchainitis, was full of crap and I looked like crap too.  Other than that, I felt like an abused and scuffed up classic trapped in a nursing home.  I will say, the surgery was painful, but very necessary.  I feel and look 50 years younger now, and it is all because of my hero, Cedric.  He is wonderful and I am forever thankful for him.  I will take him anywhere he wants to go and never complain again.

Yeah !!  ;) :)
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !
Do your BEST...nobody can take that away from you.

Some of you may be wondering how much it cost to do this project.  Would you like to take a guess?  I will give you the costs of the major items:  The cb750 K0 was $3500.00 and the Cycle-X machine work and engine parts from them cost a total of about $2100.00.  The pipes and body parts cost about $3500.00.  So we are already up to $9100.00.  Doing a CB750 these days, especially since inflation went out of control, is very expensive and I won't be doing another one.  You may be surprised at the total.  I used a mix of OEM parts and replication parts, but was careful about what I bought when going with a replication part.  I did not use any sub standard parts on this bike.  For example, I bought a lot of parts from David Silver Spares.  They carry some replication parts like spokes and they are top quality.  Also, I am not planning on selling the motorcycle but would like your opinion what it is worth.

I will post the answer tomorrow.  If someone gets within $100.00 of the total, I have a small gift for you:

Good guesses, but the actual total investment in the bike was $12,461.34.  It was a pleasure to preserve this one and it is special to me because of the story.  I look forward to meeting Ken (Ryder3) who owned the bike for over 50 years.  He plans to stop by and meet me in late October or Early November.  I have sent him pictures and he seemed to be very impressed with it.  He thinks it looks better than when he bought it.  If he gives me permission, I will take a picture of him with the bike and post it.

I am very impressed with the way it runs and I am glad I got the new higher compression pistons.  I went out for another ride yesterday and it was wonderful to hear the smooth, powerful engine.  It seems to be in perfect tune.

I am not going to sell it but I am interested in your opinion on the value of the bike.

As far as value, we've seen some nice K0's go for $10K+ and I think yours would too.   Bottom line is is is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and that ussually depends on a number of things including location of bike and where being sold [BaT, eBay, Marketplace, etc]

Fantastic job. I did almost the same resto about three years ago. At the time, it sold for Canadian$23K. Curious how long this actually took, start to finish?

BTW, missed the question of what I think it is worth...

I would say at a BAT auction would be around $20 - 22K, private sale $16 - 18K.

I would agree with that assessment. Personally I think the red and gold colors sell for higher amounts and if you were to sell yours it could easily see this figures. I wouldn't take less than 16,500 if it were mine to private seller.
The F bikes don't sell for good money, odd why they don't....given some of the differences are merely cosmetic.
Definitely insure the bike for its value and carry collision coverage. Hagerty might be a good company to get a rate you can accept if you can accept their restrictions on mileage.

I am honored to have my 1970 CB750 K0 up for Bike of the Month.  This is a special motorcycle with an interesting story.  This is the third time one of my motorcycles have been in the Bike of the Month contest, so I am hoping "third time is a charm."

I received your PM complaining about the photos used in the BOTM poll. Please respond with the photos you want used and I will be happy to modify the poll.  There were very few photos of your completed project in your build thread but I tried to use all of them.

Ken (Ryder 3) owned this bike for about 50 years and today, he stopped by my home to see his old bike again.  He was absolutely blown away by what he saw and he was so happy that I restored it.  I gave him a USB drive with over 200 pictures of the bike before, during and after the restoration.  I found him to be a very nice man and it was good to meet the guy that wrote such an interesting story from the motorcycle's perspective.  Hope you enjoyed this thread.

This is Ken with his old friend.
