I wonder if they will make it with a normal (shift-me) tranny, or do what the others did with a "I don't need to learn to run the bike to ride the bike" automatic transmission...?
(Next comes the part about..."real men don't......").
;)
I wonder how many gears it will have?
I wonder how many cams it will have?
I wonder if you can service it without a laptop or handheld electronic device?

There's 2 of those 'little' Fours ripping (14k+ shift points) around my neighborhood, both with VERY loud pipes that have, frankly, pissed off a lot of folks who live around here. They like to complain to me about it because they see me riding mine around all the time. :(
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Agree with the comment on auto shift. Why is this being increasingly offered by manufacturers? I get that the biking demographic is aging, but on a 800lb Goldwing or 600lb BMW GSA, whether I can use my left toe to shift gear would not be my first concern.

Hope the new 400 looks like a motorbike (engine, 2 wheels, round tank and round headlight)!

Must be getting old...

Honda trying to catch up with Kawasaki again lol.  I hope they do not muck it up and de-tune the engine so it needs a flash right off the showroom floor.

Dave500, They de-tuned the ZX4rr engine to a lower output in Canada. 11,500 rpm limiter verses 15,000-16,000 that should be present. Supposed to cut noise levels but cuts buyer numbers instead. Australia gets 70hp and we get 55hp.

I'll guess it will blend right in with other modern bikes, unfortunately. I've said it before, many bikes look like props for a Transformer movie.
Hope for the best from Honda.

Same here - but when I got my '75 CB400-4 in '85, my father thought I was bloody mad for getting such a "complicated" motorcycle?

No, this is a new 4 cylinder 400cc design motor Honda has come up with according to a trademark or patent Honda recently filed that indicates a new design motor is in the works.  No bike identified for that power plant.
The 400cc class is very popular overseas because of licensing and insurance there being significantly lower for bike of 400cc or less .

Whether or not we get to see any of these new motorcycles in the US is yet to be seen.

The new GB350C is being released in other countries but is not going to be sold in the US ...
It is selling in Japan for about $4695 or around $4300 without the consumption tax... But, market pricing varies with local and US pricing if it were ever offered here would be higher I assure you given the price for fir other offerings that are sold here and there.
The gb350c has about 20hp...fwiw

Emissions requirements in Europe would make it a fuel injected design in order to meet emissions requirements and a few bike designs went away with Euro5 emissions requirements kicked in as the old motor designs couldn't be made to burn that clean on other company offerings, not sure how many had that issue in Honda's lineup

That is the Honda GB350C Dave... Yeah, I find it ugly too ...  Honda isn't very original lately on anything attempting a retro look they seem to gravitate to other company's looks rather than their own DNA...it makes no sense.
