Exhaust Diffuser

Has anyone removed the cloth around the HM 300 or NO NO exhaust?  Not sure if it would affect carb setting but the subject came up in a discussion I had recently with a guy who said it made no difference.  He was looking for a louder sound for the reason he did it.

He is correct: it will not affect carb settings.
