Paint
« on: October 06, 2024, 12:46:15 PM »
Lost a side cover while riding 200 miles, on the way home, with a broken foot, in the rain.  Got that off my chest.  My bike is a late 1971 bike that is SUPPOSED painted Candy Garnet Brown.  My bike is patina with mostly original parts.  I ordered an new side cover from Yamaya.  Any recommendations where I could send it to get it to , sort of , match the other one without having to take out a mortgage?
Thanks,
Ed Spengeman

Yeah, the morgage: the local guy I used to have do the 'perfect' paint jobs was $700 for a tank and side covers. Now it's 4 digits, with no zeros in it. I will buy a compressor instead (mine popped a rust-hole thru the bottom this week... :( ).
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
