It's Alive!

Got this project back on the road. Still some fine tuning. The 4 into 1 sounds great. Went through the carbs completely and synced. Complete brake refurbish, all new or newer cables and hoses, oil, spark plugs, chain, fork oil, new rubber, some new electrical. Adjusted just about everything there was to adjust. The final was the clutch, I'd almost forgot how to do that.

a couple of final questions, I searched for a proper plug chop but couldn't find one, does anybody have a tutorial or vid. I'd like to see how the carbs are mixed at idle, mid range and WOT.

And if someone can refresh my memory for Keihin 087A carbs, the idle screw is screw out for more air?

My current rides
1975 K5 Planet Blue my summer ride, it was a friend's bike I worked with at the Honda shop in 76, lots of fun to be on it again
1976 K6 Anteres Red rebuilding project, was originally my brother's that I set up from the crate, it'll breath again soon!

2008 GL1800 my daily ride and cross country runner

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Yes, for those carbs screw the idle mixture screws out for more air (leaner), in for less air (richer).

Are you sure that's correct? I always thought that the adjustment screw on the engine side was a fuel screw and on the air box side an air screw. Don't those carbs have the adjustment screw on the engine side?

Just clarifying for my own knowledge.

The PD carbs found on 77/78 550K's have fuel screws. Those 087A carbs clearly have the screws on the air filter side so they are air screws, you thought correct!

Thanks all! It's been 10 years since I last worked on one of these but thanks to you all it's all coming back. I forgot how much fun it is figuring these 4.bangers out and getting them back on the road.
