Oil in Alternator Case
« on: March 20, 2007, 05:47:17 PM »
Well starting to tear down my 1978 CB750 F3 motor today and getting ready to clean the case and bead blast. So I decided to take out the coils and starter motor to make it easier to clean. I found about 2oz of motor oil inside the coil area. Now I really didn't expect it but considering that the flywheel and the starter gears are located in the same cavity, I thought of course! There has to be oil in this cavity...

Am I correct or should I be concerned???
