CB400F Front Axle

About a year after re-assembling this front end, I just noticed that the axle is recessed about 5mm from the end of the axle nut. Is that normal?

I'd say normal.. here is some pics of my CB400F AND CB360T. recessed about the same.
My CB750F and CB550K  are flush
