Mixture screw tool
« on: October 15, 2024, 08:21:53 AM »
I have seen many guys on here come up with some interesting solutions to adjusting the mixture screws on the bottom of the carbs.

Came across this thing on Amazon. Was like $20 Canadian. Might have to modify the tip of the included bit but I can see it working really well.

The handle is rotated and turns the bit. Pretty cool.

That's the one that I use which I got from Amazon.  It takes a bit to get used to it but it works well for me and all the 750's that I have.

I clamp a small vise grip on partway up the shaft. It makes it easier to hold the tool while adjusting the screws.

I have the one from motion pro.  Have found it very hard to use because you can't see or feel if the screw slot is actually engaged.  Kelly, will have to try with the vice grips!

Have had the Motion Pro version for several years now. Takes a little getting used to, but it works mighty well when you get the hang of it.

What SOHC4 has mixture screws on the bottom of the carbs?

I had one like that I had bought in 2009 when I rebuilt my GL1100 carbs. It was probably a Motion Pro and was a bit fiddly to hold and operate.

yup, all the PD carbs  I actually have used a stubby screwdriver on those PD mixture screws.  I bought the Motion Pro tool for certain Mikuni's that have a fuel screw.

I was using a modified stubby screwdriver and had a bear of a time. I got big beat up hands that don't work real well adjusting those screws on my PD's
