Aftermarket wring kits
« on: October 27, 2024, 10:38:19 AM »
Bought a wiring kit “Supposedly “ for my 75f
Not anything like the schematic in the Haynes book .. fu@king mess . Can anyone share a link to a ring harness that is legit with legit colors? I mean there are extra wires in the headlight bucket that don’t exist there should only be so many wires in there and this is clearly a “universal wiring harness…

Where did you get the harness? The one time I've bought a harness it was for a 400F and it looked just like the stock one, although the wires were smaller/seemingly lower quality. I got it from 4into1.

Go to the UK forum and look up Big Al as he makes to order, you will be able to buy cheaper but not better.
FYI harnesses tend to be the same for all countries and to fit different counties wants have different switches and maybe jumper wires

Also interested in where you bought the "wiring kit", was it a new harness?

But unfortunately, Yamiya carries nothing specific to the 750F's, and a 75F requires a very specific harness.  It has a separate connection case that moves many of the connections made in the bucket to a small plastic case on the front of the frame opposite the horn.  Substitutions, repairs, and work arounds are very tricky to do.

From what I have seen, buying motorcycle parts on Amazon is a big crap shoot, much worse than Ebay.  If you cannot find a new/repro harness for a 75 750f from a reputable seller, than I would try and find a clean used harness.
If it works good, it looks good...
