I don't get to church most Sundays
« on: November 03, 2024, 10:28:22 AM »
My wife is a facepainter and we are a single vehicle family, so most Sundays I don't make it to church due to her bookings. Got to eat so it is what it is.

So I went old school today and am listening to the older gospel songs. First time coming across this cover of old rugged cross. Love this song and version.

Dime, check out the band my cousin was in back in the day, Daniel Amos. Hope you like it.

Man I just gave them a quick listen and they have a great sound and vibe. Will dig in deeper over next couple of days. Thanks

My wife and I were deeply involved at the church for many decades: my background was from Campus Crusade in the 1970s after I was miraculously saved from dying in a spectacular wreck in September 1972 - I should have been killed by a train! This church slowly faded from the front lines, though, and we with that: there are pockets of the ministry here and there, but the massive ministry that was Bear Valley Baptist here in the Denver Metro area has an entire new staff and only a few of 'us' left that were involved in it all.

The ministry always continues, though: God is not dead, nor is He quiet. The things I have recently seen point to something really big about to happen, sooner than many of us think.

God NEVER fails. We only fail to see what He is up to for the day. ;)

God is Great HondaMan. He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. It is I who falls short not Him.

That it a great version that Alan does. We all fall short but only have one step back to the Cross and the Grace of God. He Loves us so much, even dead dogs that we are at times.

I have several times that I should have been dead and in the grave that God snatched me from, and yes we need to keep looking unto Him as He is about to do something most don't expect.

It is amazing what God does in our lives. I too should have been daed many times. He had other plans. I swandered His grace and mercy for a large part of my life. I was lost to mental health issues and alcohol abuse. Through God's grace I was blessed. On the 26th of this month I will be 9 years free of alcohol. Praise God!

It is like my spiritual father says " I an't dead and God is not done with me yet".

We are the church. Where two or more gather He is among us. The church is so much more than four walls. Anywhere a believer can talk to another believer is a good as place as any to praise God. Stay blessed

signs and wonders in a person's life don't have to be huge or major to be a "miracle". They can be subtle. They can be "excused" as coincidence when they aren't. Too many "coincidences" in my life to disregard.
And I'll believe a 3 1/2 year old kid's visit to heaven over any adults alleged "out of body".
And just where did the billions of galaxies come from?.....from nothing ?.....naw...
It is "man" that has tainted and skewed religion.

Religious people killed Christ. Not much of the Religious type myself. Just trying my best to keep God at the forefront.
