What did I do to it?
« on: August 23, 2025, 07:01:17 AM »
1978 CB 550K. Long day at work. Engaged the starter not realizing bike was in gear. Bike chugged forward about 6” with starter turning over. Now, when the bike is coasting, in gear with the clutch engaged, slight knocking is coming from the gearbox. What did I do to it? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Did the bike fall over onto the shift lever? If so, most likely pushed the shift lever in and damaged the shift forks and shift drum

So do you mean when you pull the clutch in and coast the noise disappears?
