Guys, it's a useful video, and M Reick is THE man, but the video makers explanations of a few things are not very good.
I am a plastigage man, even after using factory bearing codes. All that effort and money left to chance is not a game I play.

Well, yeah, maybe that is part of it, but more important is preventing compression, and not creating a break in groove that may prevent the rings from freely rotating, which we know they do anyway. Once the engine is running, the 3 ring gaps may randomly align, but ideally only momentarily.I only got up to the part where they were about to put the cylinders on. Can you elaborate on your comment?
