Best place to buy points for 76 Cb750?
« on: November 24, 2024, 09:35:57 PM »
I purchased some points from 4Into1 - the left one was perfectly aligned with the factory one. However, the right one was almost 1/8" longer than the factory one - and won't fit in behind the cam. This was quite disappointing this Weekend as I was hoping to get the bike running for the first time! Is there a better place to buy points? Here's a photo!

Likely cheap Chinese crap products, Diachi brand most likely which have next to impossible to time 2-3 points set.
It is best to buy the complete OEM Honda loaded points plate as it is cheaper than purchasing the points and condensers separate. If the condenser is a Diachi brand just toss it in the trash, they are often defective out of the box or fail quickly.
Many of us won't buy from 4 into 1 as many of their products are unusable or of poor quality, IMHO.
Unfortunately, the adage of , Buy cheap, buy twice applies...

From Honda. South Sound Honda usually has the best price.
Any aftermarket you will run into problems with the points and condensers and hopefully you have learned your lesson. Even ebay you will run into problems as some sellers list the Honda part numbers in their ad and yet sell cheap Chinese junk, not OEM parts.
As David said it is cheaper just to get the whole point plate assembly than individual parts. At $25, $26 and $28 for each individual part of points and condensers the $89 assembly is cheaper than the 4 individual parts.

#1 is the points plate assembly to get
