scale models of Hondas
« on: December 12, 2024, 10:42:01 AM »
I noticed a few of the assembled 1/4 scale models on ebay have gone down in price. I was thinking about getting one and remembered that price will get me real parts to improve my real bike.
Does anyone have the 1/4 or 1/6 scale models?

Are you talking about ones that are built already?

I would love to build the Tamiya 1/6 CB750 kit but prices are stupid.
They re-issued the kit but it's apparently out of stock again.
MPC made a kit a few years back but they seem to be rare now.

I have both. Carefull with the 1/4, some shops offer the same item, looks like a scam. The red one in a case is offered multiple times. Ordered one unassembled one that never arrived, got a refund from ebay.

Beautiful model though, good material and heavy. Comes in red, but also with a gold kit (like mine) and blue-green. These kits are hard to find.

From what I've seen the 1/4 model is about $900 unassembled and $1400 assembled.

I have a 1/8 model in the box that I'm too afraid to assemble.

My wife has a Monogram Big Drag, it's a large scale model of an altered roadster drag car. It's new in box except she assembled the tires and wheels. The funny part is, I didn't know her and was watching the markdowns of the same big drag in the toy store that was closing.

Got this maybe six years ago? Supposed to be a Christmas tree ornament -- I think it was Frank (RIP) who posted the notice, dunno if anyone else grabbed one when they were available (maybe still are?). Was it through Hallmark or something? I can't remember.

My buddy used to while away his prison time painting little photos of dreamscapes with empty pools, thought it'd be a good backdrop...
