Has anyone used spray on oven cleaner to clean engine cases? I've heard that it makes unpainted, non-polished aluminum cases look showroom clean. But then again, I once heard that Taylor Swift will never succeed in the music business.

I used it on old tractors (not aluminum) with years of baked on oil…
Doesn’t work near as good as old toilet bowl cleaner…
I wouldn’t recommend either. A Karcher hot water pressure washer is a very good tool..😇

If you plan to re-paint, I used a variety of brass brushes on my Dremel. On my 750k6, the unpainted cases had a lot of surface flaws from the casting process. I had to re-paint.

I’ve tried many techniques, and settled on a spray bottle of kerosene with brushes and bamboo skewers for the corners to get the sticky grease off, then soda blasting to remove the paint.  After that, pressure wash to get the soda off.  Not much fun, huge mess, but it seems to work.
