Gaining some perspective
« on: December 07, 2024, 04:22:30 PM »
I just did a three day fast away from the internet. I focused on getting into my Bible and a book about depression and Jesus.

By the end of it I realized I need to simplify my life. I don't do complicated well.

I also realized I have to slow my roll with my 750 project.  Financially speaking our family can't afford me putting money into the 750 for awhile.

Honestly this bike turned out to be more than I expected work wise. That doesn't really bother me but not having the funds to put into it even a little bit kinda sucks the fun out of it.

I am going to continue to be on here I just won't have many updates to post. That being said there is lots to learn from others as always.

Love this place. You guys are great. Thanks for the help thus far. Hopefully things turn around sooner than later.

Cheers

Plenty of time Dime. I bought my F new 4/75 and it has been a project ever since. Priorities.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

My Kawasaki H1A blew a left side crank seal, and with three young kids, and being on a single income, it wasn't a priority fix. It sat covered in the back of a garage for 10 years before I had the money, time and inclination to fix it...

I feel that. I am on disability which doesn't amount to much. My wife works full time plus side hustles to pay the bills. For a long time we made it work for my projects as they are a part of my therapy. I can't justify spending money on my project when there is so much more go be considered. I will do whatever low cost work I can but the bigger stuff will have to wait. The last things I committed to was the seat and the rear fender after that everything is on hold. If nothing else this will be a good lesson in patience.

This is our youngest. He has two older brothers. Our family are my world. God, family, work, other. That is the priorities. For me family and work are one seeing as I am a full time Dad.

Raising your family is priority above the bike project. Put the bike in a dry place away from condensation and salt air and it will wait.
Keep yourself whole with the Lord is number 1 to be able to care for your family and yourself. Keep looking up to see the Lord and His direction, trusting He will make a way through the mess of the world around you and your family.  Life has it's ups and downs, keep on walking through those times towards the goal. Great fully praise the Lord for all His blessings, big and small, that is the key to unlocking the shackle of depression. Don't make it complicated.

You know Spotty, even you can know the peace that only the relationship, not religion, can bring to you if you soften your heart of stone that the hurt you felt of the beatings you have held on to all these years. God wants even you to know His Love for you in the loving relationship that religion can never bring to anyone. Relationship is more than rules and regulation. Jesus came to break the chains of religion. He came that you might have life and compassion in your heart by His doing surgery on your hard heart if you will only allow Him to do so. I had to allow Him to do so in my hard heart of all the pains that came my way of my own doings(I had hardened my own heart over many years in the same way). It only takes one step of admitting of (my own), your own, sin to God and asking for His forgiveness and to come into your life right now. It works for all who do so, even the hardest of people across this hard world, just take that one step.

I just watched this by Billy Graham's grandson Will Graham on Christmas and the Peace you can also know. Watch it. It can make sense out of this chaos this world is in.

No matter where I stand in this the reality is this now has more potential for harm than good.

So I thank you to those who encountered me it was much appreciated. I ask that this please not turn into something it doesn't need to be. Thank you
