I do not know very much about fuels but I just checked and my local gas station's fuel is Ethanol (I believe standard in Thailand). I use the same fuel in my Honda CRF250L.   The inside of the CB750 gas tank is surprisingly very clean with no rust.   Bike was delivered with only a very little fuel left in the tank and the oil level was low.  I put new ethanol fuel in the tank and filled up the oil (I used Honda 4T brand engine oil (10W30) before starting the bike.

Is Ethanol fuel OK for the bike? Is 10W30 engine oil OK?

Should I try to locate a different fuel?  I'm not exactly sure what is available in Thailand?

Thailand gas stations also have gasahol? 

I would think a higher weight engine oil 40 or 50 would be better for a hot climate like Thailand?

20w50 is best for summer heat.
Hondaman recommends Belray EXL Mineral 4T 20w50, if you can get it there. It has good zinc additive for better shifting and good for the valve guides.

A quick search and I've learned the MA is for manual transmissions (wet clutch) so engine oil should be OK for the CB750.  In the future I  will look for higher weight but since I will only be running the engine for short periods of time while trying to diagnose problems and improve performance I think the  lower weight 10W30 might actually be better as it should be easier on the engine, start-up, and old parts???

As a quick note.  When I first changed oil on the Honda CRF250L I used regular oil and the shifting quickly became hard and clanky.  Once I shifted to synthetic oil the shifting was much, much smoother and stayed very smooth for much longer.  Noticable difference!

The oil level can be low after have been parked.
Oil level to be adjusted after a 30 minutes ride.

There is a risk that there is too much oil after a refill when cold after been parked. Too much oil will overflow that earlier tank and might hit rear tire.

My K6 had a leaking oil pump so level was very low after a night direct after I had got it home after purchase.

I called a friend that told me that that was typical for CB750. I took a ride and level was up and correct.

I replaced pump after 100.000km.
My bike had done 17.000km when I bought it.

K6 tank has no external breeder hose to air,  only the hose back to case where too high level will reach.

Honda 4T 10w 30 is excellent oil. Since the bike has been sitting for a while, I’d give it a change soon after you start riding it. Assuming it is fairly warm there? At least 10w 40.

Fork seals and front brake and then you’re riding. Try and find someone that can really confirm ignition timing is correct, set valve clearances, and synchronize your carbs with a manometer…..

We are in our best riding season now, stays a little cooler all day, easy to wear all the proper equipment.

Tony is a "Debbie Downer"!!  Consider it a hobby not a financial investment.

Dont use synthetic oil, it may cause gaskets to leak.

What is really wonderful about Thailand is it is always riding season.  Only 2 seasons  here -  Hot and Very Hot and right now in Dec and Jan are the coolest temperatures of the year at around 30 degrees for a high (86F) and 24 degrees for a low (74F) temperature. Very comfortable riding year round and I can ride wearing shorts and a T-shirt throughout the entire year. During the rainy season it rains incredibly fast and hard (often with flooding)  but usually clears up quickly.

Last month I had to renew my Thailand driver's license and I had a good chuckle with another person from the UK who was getting his drivers license for the first time.  On both of our tests we had the following question "What should you do when driving through a flooded area?"  I believe I answered correctly with slow down, proceed with caution but the real answer should be "Don't go into a flood, turn around, go back and drink an ice cold beer,  and wait for the water to recede".  Silly question!
