Riken Honda piston rings question
« on: December 10, 2024, 03:52:58 PM »
New yamiya Honda Riken Std rings, top 2 are identical with no bevel. Just put letter R facing up? I’m at .008 ring gap:)

One of the rings should have a greyish outer face on it, which is the top ring. While you can't see it easily, the 2nd ring has a 3-degree bevel on the bottom of the inside edge - at least, that's what the Riken .025mm rings I used 2 months ago looked like. They weren't from Yamiya, though.

On mine the gray rings have the bevel & letter R on the same side but I’ve read bevel down & letter up which is more confusing? Btw pic is a ring which got broken but new one on the way!

I was once told if the rings come packaged together, they will be in their correct order and direction, top to bottom. Has anyone else heard of this?

I've seen them that way, and also not that way. I guess I'd vote to not count on it?
