When I can't find or afford new chrome I acid dip the part, the acid eats out the rust and leves a pit. I rub silver paint into the pits, polish and  wax and know thats all that can be done.
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

It depends on how rusty it is. I had a lot of surface rust that a tube of Flitz Metal Polish and some elbow grease got rid of. Some of the rust was deeper than my supply of elbow grease, but what looked like "drops" of rust turned into pinpricks of rust.

On my bike I restored some pretty bad chrome with just steel wool and polish, I agree heffay that serious rust is difficult to restore though.   Take off a seciton, and give it some elbow grease.  If there is chrome underneath still, your in business and try to restore the pipes.  If not, its probably cheaper to get a set used or on ebay than re-chroming them (I assume.. i've never priced out rechroming pipes, but i've always heard it was expensive).

If the rust in minor cheap chrome polish ( i bought mine from napa auto) gets rid of it nicely.
